TRUMP ORDERS U.S. TECH SUPPLIERS TO OUTLAW TRADE WITH HUAWEI
A cold-war is felt between China and the U.S. after Trump orders the huge technical suppliers to cut off relationship with Huawei, the Chinese tech giant. According to Trump administration, the American firms can no longer sell software and components to the brand.
The Commerce Department on Monday said that it would give 90-days permission to complete its essential deals with existing cellular networks and gadgets. Google has agreed to work with Huawei for the time being to provide necessary security updates to its Android OS. However, it will terminate this relationship as ordered by the higher authorities as it will give way to unacceptable risks.
Infineon, the German chip-maker company said on Monday that it will also restrict its business with Huawei which is considered as China’s one of the most established brands. China from a very long term has not allowed American internet giants to provide their services in its territories and has placed high-end rules and regulations on how they can operate.
The aftereffects could be seen in Europe as well. The reports indicate that following the order, some chipmakers including AMS, Infineon Technologies, and STMicroelectronics have already banished shipments to Huawei.
How Huawei reacts to this order of restriction
Huawei, one of the important partners of Android responded to this order a day after. It said that it has worked really hard with their open-source platform do improve in its working to achieve greater benefits for both users and the industry.
The company said that it will continue to provide security updates and after sales support to it’s lined up devices, but was unable to ensure its existing customers that they will continue to get software updates or not. Despite all the hustle-bustle, the world’s second-largest smartphone merchant revealed its plans to launch Honor 20 very soon.
Eventually, it is assumed that Huawei is forced to use AOSP- open source version of Android. AOSP is a suite of Google services just like YouTube, Gmail, Google Play store, and more.
