Over the past several years Malcom Brown Jersey , Steelers players have developed a habit of complaining about the league’s efforts to make the game safer. When it comes to the new rule that prohibits lowering the helmet to initiate contact, a pair of Steelers players welcome the change.

So Foster welcomes the new rule with open arms, and non-lowered helmet.

Safety Morgan Burnett also likes the rule change, even though past Steelers safeties like Ryan Clark and Mike Mitchell were at the forefront of complaining about safety rules.

鈥淵ou can tell that the league is taking control of player safety Sheldon Richardson Jersey , and that鈥檚 really big for players,鈥?Burnett said. 鈥淵ou don鈥檛 want to see any guy get hurt or have any effects from this game once they leave the game. So I think that鈥檚 real big and very important, to make player safety first.鈥?/p>

While it’s possible other Steelers don’t feel quite that way, the fact that any Steelers are willing to speak out so clearly and strongly in support of safety is both encouraging and surprising. And as long as the new helmet rule doesn’t fundamentally change the game, that’s a good thing for everyone.

The Rams have paid out a ton of money this offseason to a wide variety of players. Perhaps the most important player on the roster has gotten none of it.

None of it has gone to quarterback Jared Goff because, by rule, it can’t. Goff won’t become eligible for a new contract until the completion of his third regular season Deadrin Senat Jersey , which happens later this year. And coach Sean McVay realizes that this specific facet of the Collective Bargaining Agreement makes it easier to sign other players.

McVay is right. But the reality is that there will be only so many cap dollars to go around. Which means that, once Goff gets his, others may not be able to get theirs. And some who have gotten theirs may end up getting more Alex Okafor Jersey , in a Seahawks-style purge that could send multiple high-priced but aging veterans out the door at or about the same time.

Much of that depends on when Goff gets his deal, and how much he gets. With the Rams waiting until the fifth year of Aaron Donald‘s deal to give him the payday he long ago earned, Goff may have to wait two more seasons, too.
